Hostelling International USA promotes the belief that one has to see the world to understand it. To this end, every semester, the Eastern New England Council awards two $500 travel grants to area college students who best demonstrate a commitment to educational and intercultural experiences in their travel plans.

This summer, we are proud to support Wellesley college junior Meagan Froemming as she studies in Jerusalem and travels throughout Israel and the Middle East. Especially in light of the current climate, her focus on pursuing peace in the midst of faith-based conflict could not be more timely and relevant.

We congratulate Meagan and wish her safe travels.

The travel grants will be offered again in fall 2006, and any student traveling abroad, through a study abroad program or otherwise, may apply. Application information available at www.usahostels.org.
